OUR STORY
Mantecado is the Spanish term for a variety of shortbread cookies. It's also the name of a classic butter-and-vanilla ice cream not only in the Philippines but also in Cuba and Puerto Rico. We love how the mouth moves with every syllable. There's a charming staccato rhythm to it.
Mantecado has a coastal vibe that suits the beachside suburb of Black Rock. While the offering is mainly modern Australian fare, we are excited to slowly introduce Filipino-Spanish dishes with a modern twist to awaken your palate with new flavours.
As we like to say, Mantecado is where east meets west in the south.
